To commemorate Mandela Day, Nkomazi has invited some school kids from the local community over for a safari.
The kids are from the Mhlabati community (which means ‘fertile land’ ). Although it’s all about having fun & enjoying nature, an important message will also be carried over today. The importance of tourism to communities, conservation of ecosystems and sustainable utilisation.
Nkomazi has been restored to a wildlife haven. Here, where great natural beauty and the 3.7 billion years of history meet, the Nkomazi conservation project has celebrated the return of wild animals to a region where they can once again roam in great abundance.
Involving and educating the local community in our efforts forms part of our bigger Environmental Education program at Nkomazi.
